Trying to dig out an old, remote email from somewhere in the recesses of your inbox? Most email clients, such as Outlook, Eudora, or Lotus Notes, offer some kind of search mechanism to help you out, but if your computer breaks or is stolen then you'll lose your ability to search through your old email lists forever. Consider migrating to a completely online email service, such as Google's GMail or YahooMail. Both offer gigabytes of space, great search support, and the ability to upload all of your old mail. And both of those companies are going to do a better job backing up your email than you ever did.
